Itinerary

Days 1-2 London > Freiburg

Take the Eurostar at a time to suit you to connect with a high-speed rail journey straight to the Black Forest, direct from Paris to Freiburg im Breisgau where you will stay for two nights. Freiburg is an attractive and ancient city, founded in the 12th century and boasting a wealth of red sandstone buildings, the oldest hotel in Germany and the longest cable car! The colourful Freiburg Christmas Market is located in the grounds of the gothic cathedral, surrounded by an array of impressive historical buildings, some of which date back to the times of the city's foundation in 1120. As you stroll through the town, be sure to look down at the pavement for the cheerful mosaics usually found in front of shops. Also, be careful not to step into the little rivers (Bächle) running parallel to many footpaths. Although, this may be a happy accident for some as a local legend states that anyone who does this will marry someone from the city. Freiburg city breaks offer a unique escape from modern living, taking you back to festivities long since forgotten.

Days 3-4 Freiburg > Baden-Baden

Fusing a highly contemporary lifestyle with a deeply rooted history, Baden-Baden brings Belle Époque bliss to the 21st century. This jewel in southwest Germany is well-known to tick all the boxes: natural hot thermal springs and soothing spas, quality hotels, gourmet restaurants, tempting shops, plenty of stunning events and a great cultural offer. All in a relaxing green environment, where everything is only an easy walk away. Seldom is it easy to find a cosmopolitan city in the heart of the countryside that offers both tranquility and excitement. Yet, that is exactly what Baden-Baden is: an idyllic international spa town in Germany’s Black Forest. Offering a wealth of stylish things to do and places to stay - discover the luxury of living the good-good life in Baden-Baden. Baden-Baden invites guests from all over the world to visit its beautiful Christmas Market (“Christkindelsmarkt”) during the pre-Christmas season. Situated at the entrance of Baden-Baden’s splendid parks and gardens “Lichtentaler Allee”, the “Christkindelsmarkt” will draw all visitors into a romantic winter fairytale. From November 24th, 2022 to January 06th, 2023 visitors will get into the Christmas spirit with an incredible offering of seasonal sounds and mouth watering aromas as well as the beautiful display of festive huts, where thousands of shimmering Christmas lights create a magical atmosphere.

Days 5-6 Baden-Baden > Stuttgart

The beautiful city of Stuttgart is home to a multitude of attractions, some more mainstream than others. You may wish to see the most popular tourist sights. However, if you wish to escape the crowds, seek out the more unusual spots. When visiting Stuttgart, the Mercedes-Benz and Porsche museums will most likely be on your to-do list, but why not visit the pig museum that’s just outside of the city centre? Take a ride on this old, wooden cable car from the city centre of Stuttgart to the Degerloch forest that’s home to a historic cemetery. This funicular railway has been running since 1929, taking locals up to see their late loved ones and allowing tourists to get a magnificent view of the city. The cable car itself is made out of mahogany and teak that has been beautifully preserved. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and experience some peace and quiet, this is the place to come and walk through the stunning forest. In addition, the Stuttgarter Weihnachtsmarkt stands as one of Europe's oldest and most lively Christmas markets! Dating back to 1692, the Stuttgart Christmas Markets are some of the oldest and largest in Europe. More than 200 beautifully decorated wooden stalls welcome visitors with their twinkling Christmas lights. The scent of cinnamon and mulled wine is in the air and the sound of Christmas carols add to the magical festive flair
