Itinerary
Day 1 – Marrakech
Fly direct from the UK to Marrakech. Upon arrival, transfer to the beautiful riad-style hotel Ksar Anika, nestled in the heart of the city. Relax and unwind in your charming surroundings, soaking in the atmosphere of old Marrakech.
Day 2 – Marrakech
After breakfast, take an optional half-day tour to explore the iconic sights of historic Marrakech. Highlights include the striking Almohad Koutoubia Minaret, the tranquil Menara Gardens, the ornate Saadien Tombs, and the once-grand Badii Palace. Wander through the winding alleys of the famed souks, ending your tour in the bustling Jemaa el Fna Square. Enjoy lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure, or extend to a full-day tour including lunch. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 3 – Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Zagora – Oulad Driss – Erg Lihouidi
Begin your desert journey with an early departure in a 4WD vehicle. Cross the Glaoua Plain and ascend the High Atlas Mountains via the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Travel through Ouarzazate and follow the Draa Valley to the oasis town of Zagora. From here, venture deeper into the desert to the village of Oulad Driss. Mount a camel and ride to the dunes of Erg Lihouidi, arriving in time to witness a magical desert sunset. Spend the night in a traditional desert camp—or sleep under the stars, if you prefer.
Day 4 – Erg Lihouidi – Ait Isfoul – Tamegroute – Zagora
Rise early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, then return by camel to rejoin your 4WD. Today’s journey includes visits to fascinating desert communities, from historic Jewish kasbahs to the underground village of Tamegroute, a center of Islamic learning since the 11th century. Continue on to Fibule Du Draa, where you’ll enjoy lunch and have free time to swim, relax, or explore the oasis town of Zagora. Overnight in Zagora.
Day 5 – Zagora – Fint Oasis – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains
Head north through the stunning Valley of 1000 Kasbahs and the Draa Valley. Stop at the lush Fint Oasis before exploring the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou—one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages. Continue to the High Atlas Mountains and settle in at Kasbah Angour, a scenic mountain retreat.
Day 6 & 7 – High Atlas Mountains
Enjoy two days of leisure in the peaceful surroundings of the High Atlas. Choose to unwind at the kasbah or take an optional guided mountain walk (approx. 5½ hours) with a local Berber guide. Explore traditional villages, ancient fortresses, salt mines, and olive oil presses while taking in the spectacular mountain scenery. Overnight stays in the High Atlas Mountains.
Day 8 – Return Home
After breakfast, transfer from the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech Airport for your return flight home
