America's Elvis, New Orleans & Nashville in 2022 from £1,681 pp 

Day 1 - Fly to Atlanta & meet your tour manager at the airport, and transfer to your first hotel, in the Alabama state capital, Montgomery.  
Rest and relax after your journey, and enjoy your first evening in the South. 
 
Day 2 - Travel to New Orleans - Today you’ll head south across Alabama, into Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast to the great city of New Orleans. You spend two nights in the Big Easy, perhaps join our optional Steamboat Dinner Jazz Cruise. 
 
Day 3 - Optional excursion: optional Louisiana Swampland excursion for a glimpse of the surrounding countryside and a taste of Creole life. Tonight, head back to the French Quarter to immerse yourself in the incomparable atmosphere. 
 
Day 4 - From New Orleans to Tupelo and Memphis, Bidding farewell to New Orleans, you’ll travel north into Mississippi, cradle of the Delta blues and home to the likes of Robert Johnson and Sonny Boy Williamson. You'll visit Tupelo, home of the tiny house in which Elvis Aaron Presley was born, in January 1935, (entry payable locally). You’ll then continue to Elvis's beloved hometown, Memphis, the bustling city on the bank of the Big Muddy.  
Day 5 - Optional, full-day Memphis Sounds excursion, which will include legendary Sun Studio where rock and roll was born, From Sun Studio, you'll make your way to Elvis Presley Boulevard to pay a visit to Graceland, the King’s home, last recording studio and final resting place. After a fascinating day, enjoy another evening in Memphis. 
 
Day 6 - Memphis to Nashville,There's a change of musical genres, today, as you journey east to Nashville – the country music capital of the world and your base for the next two nights.  
 
Day 7 - optional excursion will take you to legendary Studio B – home to countless country hits and a galaxy of Elvis's RCA recordings – and to the Country Music Hall of Fame. 
 
Day 8 - Nashville to Chattanooga, Take a scenic drive south to Chattanooga, a quintessential southern trading town beautifully set on the Tennessee River, before heading to Atlanta airport to check in for your flight back to the UK. 
 
Day 9 - Overnight flight arrives back in the UK

DAY 1 ARRIVE CHICAGO 
Welcome to Chicago! Your transfer will connect you from the airport to your hotel. 
Upon arrival, explore the Windy City on a hop-on, hop-off sightseeing tour covering 13 miles of this amazing city, making it the best way to visit all the top attractions and destinations. Hop-off at any of the stops along the tour to enjoy the sights at your leisure. Later in the day, explore the city on your own. We suggest taking a walk down Magnificent Mile. DAY 2 CHICAGO 
Continue your sightseeing tour on your multi-day tour. Be sure to stop by the iconic attractions Chicago has to offer, like the Skydeck Chicago, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, 360 Chicago, and much more. Dinner this evening at a popular restaurant in Chicago is included. (Overnight in Chicago). 
 
DAY 3 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK® 
Travel to the station and board Amtrak's City of New Orleans® for a relaxing overnight trip down South to Memphis. Your journey on this train route takes you through the heart of our nation's musical heritage - from Chicago with its world-class Chicago Symphony Orchestra and still vibrant electric blues scene, to Beale Street in Memphis and the home of Elvis, the King of Rock N Roll. (Overnight onboard Amtrak). 
 
DAY 4 MEMPHIS 
You'll arrive in Memphis early in the morning. Travel on your own to your hotel, which is located in the heart of downtown. Today you'll have some free time to explore the sights and sounds of this musical city. If you're looking for places to go, check out the music scene on Beale Street or head to the Peabody Hotel to see the famous ducks. (Overnight in Memphis). 
 
DAY 5 MEMPHIS 
Today, enjoy a tour of Memphis, including the iconic Graceland. This narrated tour will help you discover downtown, the Mighty Mississippi, Beale Street, Peabody Hotel, Sun Studio, and many more wonderful attractions! 
On your Graceland tour, you'll get up close and personal to the things Elvis cherished most in the world and truly get a glimpse of his life at Graceland. Stop in the Meditation Garden to see the final resting place of Elvis and his parents. (Overnight in Memphis). 
 
DAY 6 MEMPHIS TO NEW ORLEANS 
Travel on your own to the station and board Amtrak to New Orleans. Take in the Southern scenery as you travel the history-laden musical roads of Mississippi to New Orleans - the birthplace of jazz. Upon your arrival, you will travel to your hotel, where you can settle in for the night or start exploring this lovely city. (Overnight in New Orleans). 
 
DAY 7 NEW ORLEANS 
Start the day with a jazz brunch at the famous Court of Two Sisters restaurant. After a leisurely morning, you'll set off for your included New Orleans city tour. Absorb the sights and sounds of the world famous French Quarter and historic Jackson Square. Explore the historic cemeteries, often referred to as "Cities of the Dead". Marvel at the fascinating stories of voodoo and piracy on Bayou St. John, the waterway used by Jean Lafitte and his band of pirates. View the longest bridge over water in the world, the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and much more. (Overnight in New Orleans). 
 
DAY 8 NEW ORLEANS 
Enjoy a Battlefield Cruise and take in the picturesque sights of New Orleans and the French Quarter from a unique vantage point: the outside deck of an old- 
fashioned paddlewheel boat! Take in the amazing views of the French Quarter and the Port of New Orleans from the river as the boat's captain entertains you with a detailed narration of New Orleans landmarks, history and river lore. We invite you to take a once in a lifetime road trip and drive a real piece of American history, while 
staying in a collection of completely unique accommodations related to Route 66 lore. Savour and enjoy this truly authentic American experience. 
Day1: Arrive Chicago, USA 
 
Day 2: Chicago Enjoy a day exploring Chicago. The Sears Tower, at 108 stories, stands as Chicago’s tallest building since its completion in 1974 and is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Boat cruises are offered on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. In the evening do not miss a visit to one of Chicago’s famous blues clubs. 
 
Day 3 : Chicago – St. Louis (300 miles). This morning get ready for an unforgettable journey into 
the then and now of America along Historic Route 66. This legendary old road passes through a 
variety of pure Americana landscapes following the traditional east-to-west path of Route 66 from Chicago to St. Louis, Missouri, cruising through endless cornfields and flat prairies. En route, explore the legacy of Abraham Lincoln with a visit to the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. Arrive in St. Louis, the largest city along Route 66. 
 
Day 4: St. Louis - Springfield, MO (222 miles). Travel through the scenic countryside of Missouri, the home of Mark Twain. Arrive in Springfield. Hotel: Best Western Rail Haven. 
 
Day 5 : Springfield – Tulsa – Oklahoma City (310 miles) Cut through south-eastern corner of Kansas on your way to Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma section of Route 66 contains several miles of the original 9-foot road segment that served Oklahoman families headed west in search of better opportunities during the 1930’s. En route to Oklahoma City. be sure to check out the old Route 66 motels, gas stations and numerous vintage buildings. 
 
Day 6: Oklahoma City - Amarillo (288 miles) Stop in El Reno to see Fort Reno, established in 1874 to protect the Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians. Then proceed to Clinton, to visit the Route 66 Museum with its vintage cars and Route 66 memorabilia, before heading to Amarillo in the “Lone Star State” of Texas. Hotel: Holiday Inn Express 
 
Day 7 : Amarillo – Albuquerque (270 miles) Continue to the Midpoint Café in Adrian famous for its “ugly crust” pies. From Adrian you’ll follow Route 66 to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a great taste of the Land of Enchantment. 
 
Day 8 : Albuquerque, the state’s largest city, Albuquerque spreads north and south along the banks of the Rio Grande. Spend the day exploring Downtown Albuquerque’s Central Avenue, a treasure trove of Route 66 landmarks. 
Day 9 : Albuquerque - Santa Fe – Albuquerque (116 miles) To get a true sense of the Old Route 66, today you will detour to New Mexico’s state capital, Santa Fe.  
 
Day 10 : Albuquerque – Holbrook (260 miles) This morning, the state of Arizona welcomes Route 66 travellers with an overwhelming display of trading posts. View huge concrete tepees that stand at the foot of brilliant red-rock mesas en route to Petrified Forest National Park, the only park in the National Park System containing a section of Historic Route 66.  
Day 11 : Holbrook – Grand Canyon/Williams (180 miles) Continue to Meteor City, a true vintage trading post whose distinctive dome can be seen for miles along this stretch of Route 66. Pass through Flagstaff and Williams en route to Grand Canyon National Park, a natural wonder that you simply have to see to believe.  
 
Day 12 : Grand Canyon/Williams - Las Vegas (279 miles) Leave the town of Williams and the Grand Canyon behind and head to Seligman, the first stop heading west on the longest uninterrupted stretch of Route 66. Continue through Kingman whose old Route 66cafés and motels still flourish, to one of Arizona’s hidden treasures, Hoover Dam.  
 
Day 13 : Las Vegas Enjoy a full day Las Vegas style. Walk the famous Strip lined with mega-resorts and flashing neon lights, place a bet at one of the many casinos, dine at world-class restaurants, catch the latest must-see show, shop designer boutiques - the list goes on! 
 
Day 14 : Las Vegas – Los Angeles Area (290 miles) Re-join Route 66 in Barstow where a collection of historic photographs and artefacts related to Route 66 are on display at the Route 66 Mother Road Museum.  
Day 15 : Los Angeles Area Spend the day strolling along the beaches of Santa Monica or browsing the adjacent indoor/outdoor shops at Third Street Promenade.  
Day 16 : Los Angeles Departure Return your rental car at Los Angeles International Airport prior to your departure.

Mon - Chicago. Welcome to the Windy City! Nicknamed the 'Paris of the Prairie', Chicago is the biggest and most exciting of the Great Lake cities.  
 
Tue - Chicago - Springfield. Pick up your bike and set off on the ultimate American road trip. From Chicago you head south along the Pontiac Trail. 
 
Wed - Springfield to Rolla. Stay primarily on the 2-lane sections of the Mother Road, traversing cornfields and small towns that represent the heartland of America.Overnight in Rolla, Missouri. 
 
Thu - Rolla to Tulsa. Head west through the hills and horse country through Oklahoma, crossing Miami, Claremore and Catoosa, home of the legendary Blue Whale to Tulsa, where you will overnight. 
 
Fri - Tulsa to Clinton. Continue through the reservations of several Native American tribes including the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole, Creek and Cherokee. Visit Oklahoma City before you overnight in Clinton, Oklahoma. 
 
Sat Clinton to Amarillo. Today you cross the border into the Texas Panhandle, the southernmost portion of the Great Plains. Stop at the midway point of RT 66 in Adrian, Texas! Santa Fe is one of America's oldest and most beautiful cities and will be your base for the next two nights. 
 
Mon - Santa Fe - Free Day - Today is at leisure to rest and enjoy the distinctive flavor of this nearly 400-year-old city.  
Tue - Santa Fe to Gallup. This morning you head south, down to Albuquerque, New Mexico's largest city, with a third of the state's population. You cross the border into Arizona and ride to Petrified Forest National Park, a fossilized prehistoric forest of gigantic trees that has been unearthed by erosion. Travel further west, stay in Flagstaff, the northern Arizona community on historic Route 66. 
 
Thu - Flagstaff to Williams. Today is your chance to visit the Grand Canyon. Enjoy the spectacular scenery and maybe take a helicopter trip for a dramatic view of this iconic natural wonder. Leaving the Grand Canyon, you will pick Route 66 back up in Williams, Arizona. 
 
Fri - Williams to Laughlin. Cruise down 'Memory Lane' and head towards the town of Seligman, one of the longest surviving stretches of the 'Mother Road'. Continue on Route 66 into Kingman, and travel on the Oatman Highway winding through canyons and dessert to Laughlin. 
 
Sat - Laughlin to Victorville. Cross the border into California! One thing is for sure - today is a day like no other as you traverse the Mojave Desert.  
 
Sun - Victorville to Los Angeles. Ride the 66 miles of the Angeles Crest Highway through the mountainous terrain of the Angeles National Forest. This highway is considered one of the top motorcycles rides in southern California and rises to over 2300 meters. Next, you head towards the Pacific Ocean. Riders always have mixed emotions as they stand at the "End of the Trail" sign on the Santa Monica Pier.
