Itinerary: UK - Copenhagen by Air

Take a flight this morning from London (regional departures available on request) and head to Copenhagen, where there is a handy train station in the airport where tickets can be easily purchased locally to take you into the city where you will stay for two nights.

Situated in a picturesque setting by the Øresund strait, Copenhagen has a wealth of magnificent castles, historical buildings of the baroque and renaissance ages and the world famous statue of the little mermaid, "Lille Havrue".

Discover one of the world's oldest amusement parks, Tivoli Gardens, and the 300-year-old docklands Nyhavn with its beautiful coloured townhouses - a wonderful interaction of the modern life in the city with the fantastic old scenery. And of course you must pay a visit to The Little Mermaid, unveiled in August 1913, the bronze and granite sculpture was a gift from Danish brewer Carl Jacobsen to the City of Copenhagen and sits in the water at Langelinie Pier.

After a long day sightseeing or shopping, the superb cuisine of various Michelin starred restaurants or quaint little cafés in the city are the perfect places to relax and unwind.

You'll have two full days to explore this safe, clean and friendly city. Home to some great museums; the ABBA museum is a must for music fans, and just nearby is the incredible Vasa Museum - home to the jaw-dropping wreck of the best-preserved seventeenth-century ship in the world and a unique art treasure. More than 98 percent of the ship is original, having sunk on her maiden voyage and lain on the brackish seabed for over 300 years, before being raised and painstakingly preserved. Perhaps take to the water and enjoy a boat ride out into the archipelago, or check out the Nobel Prize museum.

6 Stockholm to Oslo by Rail

Back on the train today and make your way to Oslo. for another two-night stay.

7 Oslo, Norway’s capital, boasts vibrant cultural sites such as the Viking Ship Museum and Munch Museum. Explore the scenic Vigeland Park, hike in the surrounding forests, or enjoy the waterfront at Aker Brygge, filled with shops and restaurants.
